Welcome to our sanctuary in Chiang Mai — and the story behind how it came to be.
It All Started With a Simple Question:
“Why are there still elephants suffering in the name of tourism?”
Like many of you, we once visited Thailand as travelers. We were drawn to the beauty of the land, the temples, the food — and of course, the elephants.
But something didn’t sit right.
We saw elephants chained up outside camps. Elephants painted and made to perform for crowds. Elephants carrying tourists on their backs hour after hour.
We knew there had to be a better way. A more respectful way. An ethical way.
That’s when the idea of creating a true sanctuary took root.
